KX-3, Digirig, and Ubuntu?

Howdy All,

I am trying to setup a KX-3, Digirig, and Ubuntu with WSJTX. I am not having any luck with at all with WSJTX. Anyone have the KX-3 set up and working with Ubuntu and WSJTX? I do have the computer, and the QRP labs, QDX working FB and wanted to move onto the KX-3. Any tips.

Do you have a Digirig Mobile configured for KX3 and the KX3 cables?

Good Afternoon,

I have the DR mobile and the KX-3 cables, yes. Configured? Not sure what that means. Other than plugging in the cables to the correct ports, what else has to be configured on the DR? I have tried various settings in WSJTX, but nothing works
.

I have the DR mobile and KX-3 cables plugged into the proper ports, but are they configured? I’m not sure what that means for the DR. I have tried several combos in WSJTX, but nada. I use the computer (w/Ubuntu and the QDX just FB). Jason

And the DR is set to default. Should it be sent to something other than that (that’s how I ordered it)

Serial set up for RS-232 levels.

Here is what Ubuntu returned and WSTJX.

Thanks for your responses and the hamlib error messages.

The serial levels on the Digirig should be set to RS-232 for operation with the elecraft-kx3. The default config is serial at logic levels. The settings are changed by configuring jumpers and fuses on the Digirig board itself.

OK. So, it would be easier to purchase a new DR for the KX3 vs monkeying around with inside the current one.

While I’m sure that it may be possible to get another DigiRig for those that may be interested the following article can help you understand how to change the logic levels. Pay particular attention to the section titled Duplex serial CAT with RS-232 levels
