So I recently tried setting up my KX3 for WSJT-X and I keep getting “error in sound input”.
I’m using Digirig in RS232 configuration. Bought it that way. I didn’t configure it myself. Also using Digirig separate coiled longer KXX cords. And using Windows 11. Please help. I’m not sure what’s going on…*
Do you receive the error when you are attempting to transmit, but never before that?
If that’s the case then you are dealing with the RFI; see “sticky PTT” section of the troubleshooting guide for diagnosing and solutions.
Nope, haven’t tried transmitting yet, other than transmitting while testing the audio settings in the settings window.
I get that message as soon as I close the settings window.
Those don’t look like Digirig components.
Please check out the setup tutorial specifically the areas related to detecting the USB components and setting up audio:
Ok. So I see it (pnp sound device) in the device manager under the sounds tab. However I don’t see it as an option in the audio tab in wsjt-x. Only options are the usb audio codec and laptop speakers and mic.
You’ll need to reassign the defaults to your computer’s internal speaker/mic as discussed in the setup tutorial. I also recommend renaming the Digirig audio devices so you can recognize them easily in the lists like that in WSJT-X.
Good grief! Staring right at the problem all day and still didn’t see it!
It’s fixed now. Everything works as it should!
I’m so sorry for tying you up all day.
But thank you so much for help!
