Lab599 TX-500 Ubuntu Issies

I have the Lab599 TX-500 with a Digirig. It works great under windows…

But in Ubuntu, whenever the radio is connected and I open JS8Call, WSJT-X, or JTDX the radio keys immediately and will not stop. With just the CAT (serial) connection it doesn’t do this, but when I plug in the audio (to DATA/REM on the radio) it does this.

I just did a fresh install of Linux, and even used the 73 KM4ACK script, and it’s still doing this. I’ve been pulling my hair out all day.

Any one have any ideas what I could try?

Thanks!

That sounds frustrating. I do not have your radio, but there is a guide, Troubleshooting Digital Modes – digirig
which can show you how to take a step-by-step approach to isolate each problem and solve.

I have the same radio. Try adjusting the squelch settings. If that doesn’t work go to Digirig web site and follow the steps to set the switches.
