Mobile FT-891 Test

I tested a Digirig with a Yaesu FT-891 in a diesel truck , both with the engine running and the engine off. I was able to send and receive messages using Winlink over VARA HF with no difficulties under either condition. The CAT control worked perfectly, and the ATAS 120A vertical antenna tuned right up to the frequency changes. I ordered another Digirig for our Emergency Communications Center.
