My First Digirig

I have some experience with sound card packet, as I have built a few of my own soundcard interfaces over the years, mostly for APRS and HF. My stuff is bulky and temperamental though, not great for on the go. Another ham near me convinced me to pick up a Digirig to connect to my local Winlink gateway, which I have not done before.

I have stacks of cheap and unused HTs around, so I got a Digirig Lite and the Baofeng cables. I plugged it into a PC and a Quansheng UV-K5, set audio levels on the computer, turned the volume on the HT to a level I thought would be appropriate, tuned to the local gateway frequency, and set up UZ7HO soundmodem and Winlink express.

It connected the first time, and I didn’t even have to make any adjustments. I am new to the C-media GPIO PTT and it worked flawlessly! I love it.

I will be buying a DR-891 for my mobile HF rig soon, and possibly another for my mobile VHF/UHF rig so I can do up to 50W if needed. Thanks for a nice, compact solution! The little things like the rubber cover on the USB adapter make it even better!

Saludos también soy usuario de mi primer Digirig.

Pienso utilizarlo con un Radio QRP USDR USDX.

Cómo debo configurar los cables?.
