Hi everyone,im looking at getting a digirig interface,for ft8,psk,ect however could someone tell me if this will work with my old icom ic-730,also how would the radio send a ptt signal to the interface.The radio only has an 8 pin mic socket and a headphone out socket
The pinout of GX16 mic connector in IC-730 looks like this:
There are several GX16 cables in Digirig store, but at this time none use this pinout.
You can homebrew a cable either from scratch or by modifying an existing cable with similar layout:
GX16-8F pin 1 → 3.5mm TRRS ring 1 (RIG_AFIN)
GX16-8F pin 5 → 3.5mm TRRS ring 2 (RIG_PTT)
GX16-8F pin 6 & 7 → 3.5mm TRRS sleeve (GND)
6.35mm TRS tip → 3.5mm TRRS tip (RIF_AFOUT)
