One Digirig stops listening

Running two Digirig units on two APRS transceivers via Direwolf.

Every so often, one Digirig stops listening and the audio drops to zero. Alsamixer and the RPI4B don’t reveal anything abnormal. The radio, a Yeasu FTM-200, is connected via the data connection. A hard reset of the RPI is required to reset it.

Any ideas?

RFI or low resource CPU/chipset. Try RF chokes on the USB cables or try a high resource PC with more CPU better chipset.

Already have ferrite on the cables but I’m adding more clip-on ferrite to the cables between the sound cards and the radios to see the difference, if any.

Please let us know how it works out. Many people would like to multiplex soundcards.

It truly works very well as my problem appears to be caused by RFI and not hardware per se. I believe I’ve conquered the culprit.
