I know…the instructions said not to. A dumb trick! Now the PC doen’t see the device. Device Manager showed a triangle with “!” until I went searching for a driver on my PC. Now the triangle is gone. What next?
Connecting the radio first shouldn’t be a problem.
Please share the screenshot of what you see in the device manager (ports and sound).
Maybe you just need a driver.

I got to looking on the Digirig User Forum and determined that the problem
was probably a wrong USB-A to USB-C cable.
Apparently, there are at least 3 types.
So, I ordered one from Digirig which is short (abt 10 inches) and has ferrites and the right configuration USAB-C.
So, it looks like I’m in business.
