Pinouts for PTT for an ICOM V8 HT

I read with interest the article on “Vhf Uhf Digital Modes with Budget HTs”

I would like to do the same with my ICOM V8. I know the pinouts for the V8 is different from the Kenwood and the like HTs.

Has anyone tried to interface an ICOM PTT from a V8 or similar HT?

I would give ICOM HT cable a try:

You can confirm 10mm spacing between the centers of the sockets prior to ordering.

Denis,

I have the ICOM HT Cable. I would like to produce a cable the will plug into the audio jack and the serial jack into the Digirig to allow the use of RTS in the software TNC.

If you could give me the wiring of the ICOM HT Cable, I might like to experiment to produce a cable similar to the above mentioned article.

Thank you, George AA2GG

George, starting from Digirig 1.6 the PTT line controlled by RTS signal is permanently present in audio connector. There is no need to connect to serial port for that or change anything on the board. See the HT cable schematic in the product page.
