Tx Going Nuts with Digirig Lite and FT-8900

I’m trying to use my FT-8900 with the Digirig Lite 1.2 on VaraFM. I have the necessary components.

I’m about as n00b to digital modes as you can get, and have no clue what I’m doing. That said, the Digirig Lite has been set up according to video done by HRCC. I got it to work with my VX-6R, but for some reason something’s up with my FT-8900. When everything’s hooked up, the radio keys and releases on a millisecond time scale until you disconnect the Digirig. It literally skitz’s out. I know this description isn’t what you’d call clear and concise, and my sincere apologies for that. So please… Ask questions. I’ll provide all the extra information the best I can.

Any idea what might be causing this? Is the Lite even compatible with the FT-8900?

Any help is appreciated.

Did some experimenting, and it seems to be a mic level setting problem. I had it at 100… No idea why. Anyway, as of now, it’s at 30 and it’s working just fine. I’ll experiment some more with the setting and see if I can fine tune it.

Digirig has VOX circuit which keys up the radio when there is audio from computer.
It is possible that with high sensitivity there was some sort of positive feedback loop that cause the oscillation.
