TX on Digirig Mobile audio connect?

Not sure how to troubleshoot this one - I got a Digirig mobile with the RS-232 config for my F450D transceiver. Got the TS-480 digirig cable set as recommended. On audio connect the transceiver goes to transmit. This happens on 2 different computers with no audio playing. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? Serial and usb sound card do show up but I cant get serial to work (that is a work in progress) and I cant get audio because it goes to transmit every time I connect it.. Thanks

edit - To add context I am moving from a signalink usb which has been working

the audio port/cable of the digirig mobile also carries the PTT source.
the ptt comes from the RTS pin of the serial/com port.

so, if you have software running that has flow control enabled, the PTT line is asserted on the digirig mobile port/cable.

this causes the connected radio to TX when connecting the audio/ptt cable to the digirig mobile.

try disabling/uncheck flow control in the software you are using
