Using WSJTX on a Raspberry Pi - the dropdown for Audio input and output now empty - can''t enter input output device name

After literally years of successful use - the dropdowns for audio input and output on WSJTX are not populated - and I can’t enter values…

I have tried a number of things - but none give the values in setting..audio in wsjtx.

Device is FLRIG FLRIG

  • Set ALSA config via /etc/asound.conf and ~/.asoundrc to default to your USB device (card 3)

  • Removed PulseAudio to eliminate conflicts

  • Verified audio playback/capture using arecord and aplay with correct format (S16_LE, 44.1kHz, stereo/mono as needed)

  • Confirmed device detection with arecord -l and aplay -l

  • Rebuilt WSJT-X settings by deleting its config

  • Tested audio routing with plughw:3,0 and hw:3,0

Does it get detected on a Windows PC?

yes it does

That rules out the hardware on Digirig side. If you have another RPi box, try the same Digirig there.

I agree - I see no reason to believe it is an issue on the Digirig side. I am a bit busy with back to back public service events - and will get back to debugging this in a few days. I had significant progress by uninstalling wsjtx (installed more than a year ago - probably built from sources) - and installing via sudo apt-get. I have a bit more configuring to do - but I am seeing my input and output devices. I suspect some update or upgrade was not compatible with my hand built version…

Deleted wsjtx and reinstalled. Problem went away. Successfully using RPi/wsjtx/DigiRig/KX3.
