Trying to trouble shoot some issues when it comes to connecting with other folks on VARA HF, a lot of times the connection is spotty then just dies all together. It’s happening enough to believe that maybe it’s an issue on my end and not just blame the ionosphere
I noticed the waterfall is only about half and favors the left side of the screen, wondering if that’s my issue - maybe only reading half the data??
Rig is FT891 with 891 digirig and cables. Filter is wide open (3k?). Computer is Panasonic Tough pad, Wanna say running windows 11
Waterfall on JS8 fully comes in, no issues and solid contacts.
in varaAC is the radio settings correct?
that would be where i’d look first to see if it’s setting the correct mode, using the digirig audio, not sliding the passband etc.
there isn’t any radio settings in vara hf that would manipulate the filter of the radio.
there is a soundcard setting in vara hf but i’m sure you already checked that it’s pointing at the digirig.
Finally, use the short presses of the “F” button and MULTI knob to access the “WDH” option to open the bandwidth to full 3000Hz. All other features except for MTR (your choice) and AGC (audio) should be turned off.
