Vara FM with VX6

I’m having the same problem with my VX-6. It keys up but no bits go out nor are heard on a separate monitor radio. You can hear the quieting but no audio zzzzzt. It isn’t a cable reverse issue because the radio end of the cable is threaded. I’m totally frustrated. Jerry W6OJE

Find a solution? I am adding an VX-6 to my radio inventory mostly for using my Digirig Mobile and VOX cable setups.

That sounds frustrating. Could you show us the Audio device settings for Vara FM?

I got considerable help from KN6GWQ who got me set up with a tiny Linux board running direwolf and, with the same cables and digirig everything works. So I’m not going to spend any more brain cells on flogging the windows stuff.

Actually I was trying to use winlink express. I posted on this forum because of the digirig and vx6 commonality. As mentioned above, working now with the Linux board and I dropped the Windows frustration. But thanks for the offer of help. Jerry

In the future, adding what mode you are trying to use would be helpful. There are differences in helping with packet versus VARA FM.
