Which Cable to get for an IC 756 Pro2

I am new to digital radio and looking to use my old IC 756 Pro2 rig. However, I am unsure which cable to get. I tried the ICOM DIN8 Cables Kit which is listed as working for the ICOM 756, however I could not get it to work with my pro2. Then I saw in the forums that K0TX made a cable for the ICOMs that used the microphone connecter and the audio jack back in June 2023: Yaesu GX16 Mic Cable for Digirig Mobile – digirig

Can anyone who has gotten this to work on an ICOM Pro model kindly advise?

Dave,
Did the cables from DIN8 kit not fit the sockets in the back of your IC-756 Pro II?

It does fit and I configured the Digirig for CI-V, but the output still came from the radio and nothing showed up on FiDigi on the waterfall. I tested the program with another Radio (Anytone 5555n2) and cable so I know the program and Digi Mobile are capable of working correctly.

In looking at the pin out, there isn’t an audio out (or maybe there is and I am missing it), so how can the Digirig receive signals from the transceiver? Is there a setting I have to enable in the radio to move the audio out from the jack in the from to the Acc port?

Pin 5 is audio from radio. Are you able to hear anything with “listen” box checked as shown here:

using the rear acc, audio is NOT muted at the radio’s built in speaker.
there should have been something on the waterfall though since you’ve verified correct audio selection with another radio on the same setup.

my ic-736, long before pro series, doesn’t have a c-iv ptt command.
does the pro series have this? if not, ptt via rts will be require in setup.

Solved

I had it working the first time. That Listen suggestion was a big help.

Now to try to solve the No Port Detected error…

Thx and 73,
