Which Type of DigiRig for Baofeng UV-5R

Howy All!

I am wanting to build a portable DigiPeater/iGate with a Baofeng UV-5R and I was wondering what “TYPE” of DigiRig should I use?

TX-500
RS-232
CI-V

I am just not sure. I am also open to other radio configurations. Plan on using Jason KM4ACK’s build a Pi software.

Any and all help/suggestions are appreciated. Thank You.

Freddie,
The hardware configuration of Digirig only pertains to the serial port which is typically used for the CAT control of the transceiver. HTs don’t support CAT control so you can interfaces them with Digirig in any configuration. I would however recommend Default (logic levels) configuration with Baofengs because Digirig’s serial port can be used for programming of the radio with Chirp software. The programming cable for that is included in the kit for that radio.
