Windows 11 - DigiRig COM port not showing up

Bernd,
This is expected. Digirig Lite doesn’t have serial port in it.
The PTT is done via GPIO or tone/VOX. More info is in setup tutorial at:

Thank you Dennis,

My fault, tested and works perfectly.

I have a slightly different problem:

So I have 2 DigiLite’s, that are going to be connected to a Win11 box.

Currently 1 Digi is connected, running Direwolf. No issues. COM3 found.

As soon as I get my second antenna up, the idea is the first Digi will be connected to an ICOM for APRS, the second Digi for Vara/other programs and be connected to a Yaesu.

I plugged both into the Win11 box, Direwolf gets confused (same COM port I guess).

I can reconfigure VaraFM to choose the second set of Playback/Record devices, but PTT doesn’t recognize any other COM port.

Where did I go wrong??

Thank you.

Wayne,
Digirig Lite has no COM ports. Whatever the serial ports are listed on your computers are coming from other devices and should not be used in the Digirig configuration. For PTT methods Digirig Lite uses GPIO or tone/VOX. More info is in setup tutorial at:

Thank you.

Enjoy your weekend(s)…

Neil,
With new digirig, did all the pieces fall into place as soon as you plugged in? What radio are you using?
Thanks, DJT

Sorry, didn’t see the post.

I’m using a Yeasu FTM-500D.

Seems to be working now…

Sigh. Oldish I5 running Win11 Pro x64. Digirig mobile. Get RX audio fine, two devices in sound, comport shows up after force installing the CP210x driver, however it’s got ERROR Cannot Start. Needless to say, no PTT (which is all I need as my rig has no CAT board - TS680S) I bought the Digirig cable for this rig with the digirig to get around this.
Any ideas?

What software generates “Cannot Start” error? Can you share a screenshot?

you shouldn’t need to force install the driver.

the silicon labs VCP driver doesn’t raise any flags in win10/11

did you use the VCP windows driver or the universal or the serial enumerator version?
