I am having zero success in getting the installation to work. All I want to use the 703 for is digital modes.
(1) Windows does not recognize the digirig,
(2) Have downloaded CP210 files.
(3) No com ports are created, and no driver info in sound parms of device manager.
(4) HRD cannot connect without ports
(5) Guessing at the right connection point for the cables from digirig to 703 (except the din 13)
I know this is a user issue, but I am computer dumb.
Did I get the right configuration for the 703?
How do I get the ports actually installed?
If I connect my 7100 direct to USB port, I get com ports 3 and four HRD is happy.
Digirig’s devices have to be detected by the computer before any other steps makes sense.
In your case the issue is likely due to the use of charge only cable. Please try sourcing a data capable USB cable.
13 pin connector plugs into a matching accessory port on the back of the radio and straight black TRRS jack on the other side plugs into Digirig’s black socket labeled “audio”.
Angled TRS connector plugs into radio’s CI-V remote socket and the straight green TRRS jack on the other side plugs into Digirig’s green socket labeled “serial”.
Looking thru the setup on the computer, under sound I do not see Silcon Labs listed as an audio source. I have “USB AUDIO SOURCE” and 'USB DIGITAL AUDIO".
Looks like (maybe) my driver install only half worked.
(also notice that I broke my FIRETV audio, but that is another issue all together)
Once again, I truly appreciate the help.

silicon labs would be the serial port (digirig cat/ci-v control)
usb audio would be the digirig ‘soundcard’
(it’s a generic ‘thing’ so whichever sound device appears/disappears when plugging and unplugging, is the one you want to select in HRD)
