Woad Sending Winlink Emails

I am using Baofeng UV5R connected to digirig to Android 11 tablet running WoAd. Image shows I am connecting to RMS gateway, but messages remain in outbox. The outgoing chirp sounds a little truncated to my expectations. Perhaps it is some settings issue. Any advice?

in your session settings, TNC settings;
you can up your tx delay if you need to.
maybe try a value of 800
(it’s a little high but if you succeed, you can back it down a bit)

lastly, as i commented in another thread about the UV-5R ‘style’ radios;
do you have STE disabled in the radio’s menu?
this setting, when enabled, holds the TX a second longer after PTT has been dropped.
this leads to not hearing the header of the reply from the distant station.

good luck

Thanks I’ll try upping the delay. Yes my settings on the UV5R are all set like you and others have noted elsewhere, including STE being off.

Unfortunately, delay changes hasn’t helped. To me monitoring the tx it sounds to me like it is just a part of the initial data that is supposed to go out. Not certain, just a feeling.

I am guessing that running it through the below linked amp is causing more of a delay. Wonder, if it is doable with this amp or not.

i believe that amp uses rf sensing for enable/disable.
so if the rf sense is slow on the ptt assert and slow on ptt release, then yes, it would be difficult to make a reliable back and forth.

I did it without the amp and no difference. :weary_face:
