WSJT settings (CAT) for IC746PRO? No luck so far

Hello all! Just got my Digirig today and made my first digital contact on PSK31 - what an amazing piece of hardware!!

I’m trying to make FT8 work; I downloaded FLRig and was able to monkey around enough to be able to change the rig’s freq from FLRig, so it seems like CAT control should be possible.

Now I’m in WSJT-X in the Settings menu under the Radio tab; I’ve tried all kinds of things and the “Test CAT” - zero luck so far. Any chance anyone would have the necessary settings I need here? I do have the CI-V cable from DigiRig.

Thank you all so very much - the incredible tutorials on the Digirig site have gotten me WAY further than I would have expected!!

I do not have your radio, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

For WSJT-x modes, do not use flrig. Configure WSJT-x to use the setting ICOM IC-746PRO directly.

Constrainted, absolutely worked like a charm!! Killed FLRig, fixed the COM port settings, and got a green light immediately. FT8 started piling in!! Thank you so much.

So I guess I don’t actually need CAT control to work digital - but since I’ve got the right cable and everything, if I wanted to get it set up - would I be able to do that through FLDigi? Would I ever have any need for FLRig?

Congratulations on your success!

For fldigi, I would go to Configure → Rig Control → hamlib and set Icom-IC746PRO and take it from there.
