Xiegu G90 Winlink Vara HF n JS8Call

Been at this problem for days. I have a Xiegu G90 v 1.81 + Digi link v 1.9 + Winlink Ezpress Vara HF and licence. Connecting to various RMS stations can hear and see the modem working on sdr monitors but not receiving an Ack. Been around all the settings with ChatGPT, checked the hardware, cables, antenna etc. I can share the settings. Anyone have any ideas? Also installed JS8Call but similar issues ie sending but not getting anything back?

My radio is Xiegu G90 using Icom 7100 template in Vara and JS8Call
Radio Control Port: COM8
Baud: 19200
Enable RTS (radio control section): OFF
Enable DTR (radio control section): OFF
PTT Port: COM8
Enable RTS (PTT section): ON
Enable DTR (PTT section): OFF
Windows Sound out: 93% checked at various levels
Windows Sound in: 93% checked at various levels
Windows AGC setting: unchecked
Vara HF Sound card set at Left speaker only.
Radio AGC on F
Aux output: 15/15 checked at various levels
Aux Input: 8/15 checked at various levels
Cables all checked out good.
CAT Control working
JS8Call digital Calls seen being delivered on PSK Reporter
SWR at just over 1 on 20 and 40m
Power settings tried from 5 to 20W

Windows Drivers digirig sound card checked and reinstalled.

ptt via CAT/CI-V may help (that’s what i used)
agc ‘should’ be off. (i’ve made connections with it on fast but ideally, it should be off)

everything else looks ok and to be honest, the settings i’ve pointed out shouldn’t be a make or break situation.

now, the gateway you’re calling may be the weak point.
have you tried several gateways ?

i’ve found my home station rarely ‘lines up’ with the propagation estimates.

are you letting the full 10 attempts run through?

Hi, by Gateways do you mean RMS? I’ve tried AGC off on the Radio and have it unticked in Windows.

I usually let it run 15/15 times on each RMS.

Could any of these issues be related to my laptop hardware? It’s an ASUS Win11. I doubt it but ask the question. Are Digirig themselves able to advise in these situations?

winlink gateways refer to any and all stations registered with the winlink system to send/receive traffic.
(winlink trimode, bpq32, etc)

winlink rms is usually refering to vhf/uhf stations.

i’m sorry i couldn’t be of more help.

i’ve used a g90 and x5105 with a digirig mobile to connect to the winlink system many times. most often spotting myself for pota activation off my motorcycle.
