One of the lesser known Yaesu rigs. I have my Digirig working flawlessly ont my FTDX10 and FT857D. So I thought… but what if… Now the FT-600 uses the 6-pin mini-DIN for CAT. They called it “CLONE” on the back.
it ‘looks like’ the clone jack is for memory programming as opposed to transmit/receive audio.
i get self conscious when trying to clear up the terms used.
i feel i come off as the grammar police etc
with the advent of soundcard modes taking off, anything and everything gets confused with:
DATA in/out
SERIAL in/out
1200bps/baud
9600bps/baud
i’m pretty sure in the case of the above radio;
the clone jack is serial data in/out that is used to program the memories or ‘clone’ one radio setup to another. (icom labeled this ‘clone’ at one time for HTs back in the day)
it is not a path to the transmitter and receiver for ‘data modes’ using a soundcard interface.
the 3.5mm jack above it labeled AFSK is probably the input/output you want to connect the audio in/out of the digirig to the radio. the phono/rca jack to the right of it will probably need to be connected as well to key the radio.
