Does the Yaesu FT-65R Cable for Digirig Mobile cable work with CHIRP or is it audio only?
I noticed in the advanced manual for the FT-65R that a cloning cable from one FT-65 to another only utilizes just the 2.5mm jack so maybe it is possible? Unfortunately, I do not know what the sleeve on the 2.5mm is used for.
The Yaesu FT-65R cable currently offered in store is for audio+PTT only.
Please post here if there is any interest in the programming cable for this model.
I might end up getting a VX-6R, having a programming cable for that would be nice.
It’s surprising that a 2.5mm to USB for programming can cost around $45. Hopefully there is a big enough following of Digirig users with these HTs to warrant a programming cable.
I am definitely interested in using the DigiRig for all of my radio programming. I have an FT-4XR and an FT-25R which would both use that cable. I would pre-order if necessary. Thank you.
Addendum:
I would much rather pay DigiRig for my programming cables than buy single-purpose cables for all my radios, especially if they’re a similar price to the single-purpose cables. I like that the cables are well constructed, documented, and multi-purpose. I would have no program buying an entire suite of Yaesu data+audio+PTT right now if they were available. Thanks.
