I have a Yaesu ft-7900r dual-band radio and was wondering which cat config to order won’t need cat for this radio but might want to use the digirig in the future with a 991a and the ft-450 so want to have a digirig that will work all these radios. So ordering the digirig one time is necessary i understand i might have to use different cables.

Jeff,
From the connections I see on FT-7900 I don’t expect it to support serial CAT control so Digirig’s configuration wouldn’t matter. No need for external interface with FT-991A and for FT-540 you’ll need RS-232 configuration.
