He never mentioned setting up the Windows audio levels and that is probably the single most important & difficult thing to get right, at least with my FT-897. I haven’t tried DR on my FT-817 but it’s next.

It goes quickly once you get used to it. I had trouble with my 818nd, at first, and now with the 818 and 857 they’re quick and easy to adjust.
