Yaesu FT-857D & Digirig driver problem?

Hi there!

I’ve recently experienced problems when trying to get my Yaesu FT-857D transmit with VARA HF. This problem started to occur after I had installed drivers for Icom IC-7300 on my computer. Before that everything worked fine and nothing besides the Icom drivers has changed on my computer.

VARA HF now displays Digirig as “USB Audio Device”. Before, when everything worked fine, it displayed “PnP (something)”. I’m running Windows 10. Cables are all Digirig.

The rig works fine with WSJT-X. I don’t use CAT control as I’m using Yaesu FC-30 ATU.

Lauri,
The way Digirig’s sound card is identified in the device manager (“USB audio device” vs “USB PnP Sound Device”) depends on the generation of Digirig. Earlier revisions used CM108AH audio codec chip which is at the end of production, newer Digirigs are using a current CM108B chip. This should not be affected by the serial port driver you installed. You can plug the same Digirig in other computers and the description of the audio device should be the same on all.
