ITs all working but I cannot see\m to get 25 watts out.
seems to be 10 watts … slider on the right at 100%
new digirig, new cables , low swr , radio has full power in all other modes.
audio setting ???
set the ft-857d to 30 watts out , 50 gain and tried 100% gain …
any and all help is appreciated …
yes made a few contacts very few so its : working : but poorly …
in wsjt-x, the slider only adjusts ‘within’ the program itself.
it isn’t the operating system volume ‘absolute’
so you should look at the volume settings of the OS itself and set the output (digirig) at 100%.
that should give you better control with the wsjt-x slider and get you to full power out from the radio.
lastly, i’m not familiar with the ft-857 but there might be an input gain setting in the menu of the radio.
something like line in or data in or similar.
that may need to be increased as well.
So, at 4am I gave it another go. Re-seated the cables, nothing. decided now is a good time to run the pending update for Linux. Figured I was too tired to do anything else if it didn’t work. When the update was done, shut off radio. powered off laptop. Turned on radio and rebooted the PC. Checked all the settings and boom…it worked. I did play with the PWR slider in WSJT and adjusted it until the external power meter roughly matched what the radio was set to regarding transmit power. Not 100% sure what the ALC is at, but I know it’s greater then zero. On that meter (Diawa CN-901) ALC is around 2 when using my FTDX10, when the meter matches radio power.
Win 11 on an hp laptop … After further review , it appears I have a radio problem.
Was working fine a week ago … now full power on PKT an FM weak power out in all other modes . Packing her up and off to the repair shop …
