I’ve trying today to get my FT65 HT to connect with Winlink and VARA FM chat on 2M. In both cases, when I attempt to connect, the transmitter is definitely being keyed up. For Winlink it simply disconnects the session after 15 attempts. For VARA FM Chat a nearby ham can hear my calling him but Chat disconnects after 3 attempts. When he calls me on Chat the window shows his attempt but no message is displayed and Chat disconnects. I rewatched your video and checked all my settings and nothing seems out of order. As far as Digirig functions are considered it sounds like everything works: the radio keys up, the payload gets on the air and it appears that your station hears the signal from the remote station. Things that may need adjustments:
- audio levels: could be too high or low, distorted due to some system settings etc
- transceiver settings: things like FM wide vs narrow etc. factory reset may be needed for good measure
- protocol match: making sure your and remote station use the same modem and settings
- RF link quality: signal may be too weak, noisy, distorted etc. You can temporarily move your station close to the remote station to rule some of this out
