Does anyone have experience using the Digirig Lite with the FTM-150RASP?
I cant seem to get the digirig to active the PTT on my radio in order for it to transmit with APRSdroid. I’m using the 1200 baud cable for the mini din 10. I have no problem receiving packets but I cant seem to get it to transmit.
Which Digirig model do you use?
APRSdroid doesn’t have any PTT configuration so it relies on VOX either in the interface (like Digirig Lite or Digirig DR-891) or in the radio.
Using the Digirig light, was able to get it to work after playing around some more.
Set to 1200 baud, fixed on B band side, about 75% volume on my android. No exactly sure what the issue was at first, had my volume set lower before when using the Digirig light with my HTs. I think the yaesu just needed a louder input.
I’ve had my FTM150-RASP for a few months now and wanted to try out some digital modes.
I just got the Digirig Mobile with the MiniDin cable and I also have the Yaesu SCU58 cables.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what to do with them, other than plugging them in.
I can get the drivers to load properly (Windows 11 and Kubuntu 24.04) but I get no sound and can’t seem to find the right software/settings.
Lawrence,
The software you’ll need will be dictated by the choice of the digital modes you want to operate. For FM radios you can pick from email (Winlink + VaraFM, Winlink + soundmodem), chat (VarAC), images (SSTV), position reporting (APRS). To get the feel for these modes you can watch some videos which don’t have to be Digirig-specific.
