I’m trying to get my Digirig mobile working with my Yaesu FTM-510 and Winlink with VARA FM.
Every time I try to ping a station or connect, I get a message on the radio “TX PROHIBIT”.
How do I correct that ? I have APRS turned off on the radio.
I’m not sure where to start with this issue. Thanks.
i’m not familiar with that radio but i’d look for:
a menu item in the radio like ‘PTT lock’ as well as verifying the correct frequency is indicated.
the ‘name brand’ amateur gear won’t transmit out of band without modification.
in the same vein, make sure no tx offset has been set that would put the tx out of band.
if it’s a dual band, dual display radio, make sure the desired band/vfo is selected for TX

What frequency are you trying to transmit on? Is it outside of the ham bands? Maybe it’s switching VFOs on you and the second VFO’s not on a ham frequency. Try setting both VFOs to the same band and freq. Page 42 of the user manual talks about a band skip feature that can inhibit TX. Make sure that’s not enabled.
