Digirig for icom726

my digirig without cable just arrive yesterday and looking for any input here to config my icom 726 to n1mm logger but hardly find the solution, has any one done
?

Not sure what you mean by “digirig without cable”.
For your IC-726 you’ll need Digirig Mobile in CI-V configuration, this cable kit and one of the USB-C cables. Do you have all these items?

yes i have but it is a home brew cable,by the where should i connect the serial port from digirig to radio? second audio is going to the ext speaker at the rear back of the radio, pls correct me.

i have DIN and the other end are 2 pcs 3.55 mono and 1 small stereo plug

i have DIN cable with two 3.55mm mono and 1 small stereo type, pls can give more details on connection of that serial socket going to radio, thanks 73.

Here is the schematic for DIN8 cable compatible with ICOM IC-726

For serial CAT control you’ll need to configure your Digirig Mobile for CI-V and use the cable below:

no luck as of this time for the CIV, i have to try to change from CIV to RS232 config of my digirig, would it be possible?

Looking at the pictures of the rear panel of ICOM IC-726 I don’t see any RS-232 ports. Sending RS-232 level voltages to the CI-V port can potentially damage it.

Let’s focus on the settings. Can you please share the screenshots of the CAT configuration in the software as well as the list of the relevant transceiver settings you are using.

I followwd all details on DIN8 which you sent as well as the serial and actually i made two serial cable one is mono and the other is t,r,s with the other end is t,r1,r2,s and by the way on the serial cable no connection between r,r1,r2 only t and s,i hope you can understand what i mean…73.

Sorry, the images came through not readable. Please try replying using the web interface.

Thanks for the pictures. I can clearly see the settings, though resolution is a bit low to see the electrical connections in the cable you made.

Anyway, I’m not familiar with this software; on the surface the settings look ok as long as the baud rate matches the settings in the radio (9600). I would recommend first trying a simpler software to see if the CAT control is working. Something like WSJT-X is harder to mess up when it comes to settings.

Here is the relevant excerpt from the manual:

actually i already install a diode in916 for baud rate 9600 but no luck, i’ll try to replace it with in4148 a highspeed switch and i will update later, thanks…

this is wsjtx it can recieved but cannot transmit and the frequency will not follow when i change the band…i will post any update for anyone who can encounter this problem.

You can confirm that the serial port works as it should by doing a loopback test as shown here:

Meanwhile with WSJT-X you should be able to transmit if you set rig to none and manually tune the radio.

that is now a big question iv’e done the loopback test but this time even the serial cable has not plug to digirig you can do typing any worg character thats the situation here…

Is this a correct base on a CIV config?

The echo without loopback is the correct behavior for Digirig in CI-V configuration. Just make sure terminal itself doesn’t have local echo enabled.

If CAT control still doesn’t work it can be an issue with the radio. If you can rule out Digirig as an issue you can try a generic CI-V cable which you can get for $5-15 on Amazon.

maybe cause on wsjtx it can now receive the problem is it csnnnot transmit and ive said before the frequency didnt follow when i change the band via wsjtx as will as in N1MM logger, sorry to disturb you but i need to resolve this issue, once this can be resolve i will recommend digirig to all my fellow amateur here in Philippines, a lot of old icom radios here.anyway if i can find ways to work this out will post in community forum, thanks…
