Ft891 and digirig

I have the digirig mobile and ft891. I have the proper cables. My computer hears the signal. But the radio won’t transmit. It’s on RTS. But no transmit.

The comport doesn’t show the digirig and I can’t figure out why

Frustrating, but you are about half way there. Which digital audio program are you using? Can you select the proper COM port? Have you installed the driver for the Serial Port, Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COMx)? There is a troubleshooting guide:

I am using WSJT-X I can decode but the CAT function is not working I have installed the Yaesu drivers from the website and did do a successful test from the set up program but when I attempted to use it it would not transmit

OK! I understand you are using WSJT-X and trying to use CAT control to pull PTT. There is also a choice to use the serial port COM device to control PTT.

Digirig with FT-891 FT8

Yes, on FT-891 CAT has to be done via the direct cable between the transceiver and computer. MiniDin8 connector in the back doesn’t have serial lines like other FT-8xx radios. As for the audio: try troubleshooting method involving plugging the headphones in Digirig’s audio socket to check if there is output from the interface.
