I am using the Digrig 891 with the FT-891. I am using WsJT-x version 2.6.1
The signal coming in from the radio can be heard if I listen to the input.
In WSJT-X, the receive signal meter continuously bounces. I have not been about to have a constant level of signal. Also, I do not think I am decoding all the signals I am hearing.
What have I done:
ACG on and off
I increased the Data Data setting in the 891 to get more of the signal to show.
I lowered the Data Data setting in the 891 to ensure it was not overpowering, but the meter never maxed out.
Heavy-duty USB3 cable
Ferrites on and off the cable.
I moved from the signalink to the Digirig. I’ve never had issues like this before.
What am I missing?
Attached are two Screenshots of the waterfall.
I also included the WSJT-x
One thing I want to remind you. It is not that I am not making any contacts. I made 35 the day of these screenshots. You can even see the receiving meter is showing 0 after a high of 60.
It looks like radio may not be holding frequency or something else at play here.
Those transmit blocks by other stations should be sharply contained within 50Hz each.
The band is fading, but this is how waterfall looks on my IC-7300 right now:
Let’s take Digirig out of equation by trying the acoustic coupling. Can you adjust WSJT-X to take audio from your computer’s mic and put it close to radio’s speaker. Do you get a sharper waterfall this way? You’ll need to listen to fairly loud FT8 chorus for some time while keeping ambient sounds low.

I found something I had not seen before. Enable Audio Enhancement under the Advanced tab. I unchecked it, and everything worked.
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear you got it sorted out. Typically Audio Enhancement is turned off by default so it doesn’t get in the way very often.
