Does this piece fit on the new, smaller DR Mobile case, or is it only for the older, larger case? I love the ability to secure it to my IC-7000 Armoloq case.

Thanks,

Steve VE7IIF

It’s for the older (square profile) one.

If theres a new model can some one send me the specs and ill redesign or update this. Shouldnt take me long.

Do you have the specs on the new one? I dont have the new style, ill go ahead and update the design

Which style were you wanting to fit? The green one or the hard case one ?

go to the thingiverse post

There’s hardly any empty space in the new model, so same approach may not work as well.
Here are the STLs if you want to design a new mount:

do you have these in the cad versions? I can import STL into fusion but its not as precise, these have hollows and voids that aren’t filling correctly. or if you have the profile link or source i can pull the cad from them.

I can do STEP file if that is a better option for what you are using.

yes step is much easier, STLS dont have measurements just plot points for a printer, trying to convert an STL into a solid with sizes is a pain.

I’ve uploaded the STEP files as well. Hopefully that helps.

Thanks I’ll take a look tomorrow

OK that was a quick and easy redesign, ill have the new case uploaded to the thingiverse page shortly.

Thank you so much Robert!

It’ll be my first 3D print when my printer arrives this week :crossed_fingers:

Good luck!! Have fun with the printer. Use TPU to print it, it’s hard to learn tpu lemme know if you need one printed.

My printer arrived today, but I haven’t set it up yet.

Having never used a 3D printer before, what could possibly go wrong using TPU as my first print ever?!

I think I’ll practice with PLA first, then move to TPU which I happened to have included in my purchase, so I have the material.

Thanks again, and I’ll update.

TPU can be tricky to print especially if you’ve never printed before lol.

I did the print in TPU 90A yesterday, and it turned out well.

I spent a better part of the day learning how to the move the bolt positions of mount in the print to a slightly different location so I could fit it into the spot I wanted—this is all new to me so a steep learning curve, buy I’m enjoying it.

Next, I’m going to modify the interface cables to be just long enough to go from the radio’s backplane jacks to the DR Mobile, to clean up the clutter.

Thanks again @Robert_Mehrer for your file and assistance.

Nice ! Good job … did you alter the file to move the bolt holes ?
